Nokia 3600 Review

More than just phone calls

by

The Nokia 3600 is a stylish phone that is packed with features, applications and options. The phone boasts excellent reception & voice quality and the handset is loud enough to work well even in noisy surroundings. The attraction of the Nokia 3600 is the wide range of features that it offers, making it an exciting and flexible phone for all users.

The high-quality LCD colour screen supports 4096 colours, with a resolution of 176 x 208 pixels. The phone's memory can store over 300 high quality or 1800 portrait images. It has strong backlit and keypad illumination, which although a useful feature, unfortunately tends to run the battery life down.

The Nokia 3600 has an overwhelming array of options to keep users occupied including a built-in digital camera with 3 modes, a video camera and audio recorder. It also has an MP3 player, FM radio, JavaTM games & game demos and a composer to create personalised ringtones. The Nokia 3600 comes equipped with BlueTooth, USB connection and built-in modem. Other features include a stopwatch, calendar with to-do list, calculator, alarm clock and a really useful converter that can handle currency conversions, and also length, volume and temperature, a fantastic feature.

The Nokia 3600 can store up to 1000 contacts in the phone book and an appealing feature is the ability to include thumbnail pictures and voice tags to personalise phonebook entries. Multiple numbers per contact can also be stored. The phone comes with polyphonic ringtones that are loud and distinctive and there is also a speakerphone capacity. The phone has an average battery life with 240 minutes of talk-time and a standby time of 200 hours. However, although some phones can be prone to random shutdowns, its call quality is superior in comparison to other phones on the market.

The Nokia 3600's has an unfamiliar keypad layout, which can be tricky and takes a bit of getting used to, but the menus are straightforward to navigate and can be re-arranged to suit personal preferences. Although slightly bulky in appearance, the Nokia 3600 is a very attractive phone for people who want more than something to just make calls on. It is a hand-held entertainment centre that never fails to impress.
